Syracuse Children's Theatre offers classes in Acting, Singing, and Dance that culminate in theatrical productions on stage.

These classes allow children to learn the essential elements of the performing arts through the context of musical theatre.

In Acting classes, students learn about characterization, vocalization for the stage, as well as team-work through theatrical games and exercises.

In Music classes, kids learn about how to correctly use their singing voice, while also building skills in intonation, harmonization, and music theory.

In Dance classes, students of various levels of experience, learn dance for the stage, including jazz and modern styles. In our dance class, the emphasis is on dancing as a group, with energy and commitment to the choreography.

Syracuse Children's Theatre welcomes students of all backgrounds and abilities. We strive to teach in a way that benefits each student as an individual. Our classes are broken up into different age groups, so that classes are taught in age appropriate ways, to a diverse group of students. We want to see each student grow through our programs, and attain their own personal next-best-level of achievement in performing arts.

Our classes put an emphasis on team-work and the integrity of the ENSEMBLE in any performing arts piece. We teach that it is this ensemble, so crucial to any musical theatre production, that really carries the show.

It is because of this approach that students come away from SCT's classes with stronger abilities to work in a group setting, problem solve, trust others and oneself, and feel confident and calm in front of others.

At SCT, kids make friends with a diverse group of peers that come from all over Central New York. Our students enjoy working with other kids who share in their interests in the performing arts.

At SCT we want every child to feel welcome and safe. In our new building in East Syracuse, we provide the perfect atmosphere for just that. Our building provides a comfortable atmosphere for creative learning.

Our classes also boast a 10:1 or better student-to-teacher ratio, to ensure that every child can learn and grow through the performing arts.
